About Daniel Cil Brecher

Daniel Cil Brecher is an independent historian living in Amsterdam. A former director of the Leo Baeck Institute in Jerusalem, he has taught at Haifa University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem; his TV and radio documentaries and exhibitions on the history of the Middle East and the Holocaust have been shown throughout Europe and the United States. His latest books are „Fremd in Zion. Aufzeichnungen eines Unzuverlässigen“. Munich (DVA) 2005 and „A Stranger in the Land: Jewish Identity Beyond Nationalism“ New York (Other Press) 2007.
